ISPCC Ambassadors

Over recent years the ISPCC has been lucky enough to have many well known personalities endorse its work, and it was the wish of the Society to acknowledge those individuals and ask a small number of them to become ISPCC Ambassadors.

Celebrity Ambassadors are a positive, public endorsement of the ISPCC and its work.
They spread our message, raise awareness of our services, and help us ensure that every child in Ireland is heard. But more importantly, they provide a bridge for many of our young clients into the services that we provide.

The demand for ISPCC services has never been higher. Our Childline service recently reported listening to over half a million children in 2009, yet 37% of calls to Childline went unanswered.  We still receive next to no Government funding and there has never been a more testing fundraising environment.

Speaking at the launch of the ISPCC's first ever Ambassadors, Ashley Balbirnie, CEO, said: “It’s a real honour for us to announce our celebrity Ambassadors, all of whom have shown us tremendous support over the years.  Westlife, The Script, Mikey Graham and Louis Walsh have consistently supported the Cheerios Childline Concert.  Brian O'Driscoll, Colin Farrell, Miriam O'Callaghan, Martin King and Ian Dempsey are regular supporters of our annual fundraising activity. And we welcome Grainne Seoige, Robbie Keane, Damian Duff, Pat Kenny and Mary O'Rourke on board.  Today marks an important day for the Society and we are delighted to have the support of our new Ambassadors.”
