Kooliobandz, a unique Irish innovation for parents, have launched a new type of identity wristband for children and will be helping to keep Childline phones operating 24 hours by making a donation from the sale of each pack to our service.

Koolio Ltd Joint MD Brian Walsh said: “As parents we are all acutely aware that losing sight of your child, even momentarily in a crowded shopping centre or play area can be terrifying and the prospect of a child going missing for any length of time is everyone’s nightmare. We have just launched our new KoolioBandz identity wristband which is designed to provide a simple and cost-effective way to put secure ID on your child with complete anonymity. Anyone finding a lost child can contact their carer instantly, inputting the wristband code on the KoolioBandz website via their smartphone or PC, to send a secure text message as to the child’s location. Childcare professionals see KoolioBandz as a real step forward in child safety, and welcome the simplicity and speed of the communication process, easily accessible by members of the public.”

Aisling Andrews of the ISPCC Childline said: “Childline are delighted to benefit from the sale of this innovative new product which will be helping us to answer more calls from children across the country. While parental / carer vigilance is the key to child safety we welcome this clever use of technology to provide additional support to those caring for a child.”

Kooliobandz are now available in Supervalu and leading pharmacies countrywide, each pack costs €9.95 for a pack of two, with a donation from every purchase going to Childline.

The Kooliobandz system works 24/7 worldwide. Parents or carers can receive a text message about their lost child, anywhere in the world, at no charge. The system can translate text messages from 40 different languages.

This unique new Irish innovation in childcare was developed by Koolio Ltd in Rathcoole, Co.Dublin and is powered by iServe Cloud Technology.
