Helping children navigate through homework and study

Completing homework and studying can be a stressful time of the evening for children, young people and families.


Promoting a healthy diet and supporting your child with a bedtime routine can help to keep them physically, mentally and emotionally well to take on homework and study. 


Maintaining an open and positive relationship with your child can help to empower them to discuss any difficulties they may be experiencing with their homework or study. If your child is experiencing difficulties, it can be helpful to communicate this back to their teacher. 

Supporting your child receiving exam results

Parents and carers, as well as young people, can feel excited, anxious, worried and / or disappointed when Leaving Cert results time arrives. 

It can be difficult to know how to provide support, but help is available for all. 

There are some steps you can follow to help your child through this challenging time:

 

School Struggles
School can be a challenging environment. Some children and young people struggle with school and this can lead to poor performance and a lack of sense of wellbeing which they should freely enjoy.
