The adventure will be approx. 2.5 hours of navigating the River Liffey waters while covering an incredible 8 kms! \nThis is the ultimate challenge to take part on your own to meet new people with similar interests.  \nYou can take part with your close friends and family or on a team building day for you and your workplace colleagues. DESCRIPTION:Digital sessions will equip parents and teachers of primary school children with tools to bolster resilience and provide tips to help manage anxiety  \n\n\n\n\n \nISPCC and author and illustrator\, Katie O’Donoghue are set to host a series of free webinars for parents and teachers that will provide them with tools and tips to help bolster children’s resilience and manage anxiety.  The next in the series which is primarily for teachers\, will take place on May 9th\, 2023.     \n\n\n\n\n \nAt ISPCC we know what is worrying children and young people in Ireland; we know what is on their minds and we know how to support them. Through this series of bespoke webinars\, parents and teachers will learn skills and strategies for children between five and 12 years of age who are feeling anxious and who would benefit from a boost in confidence to strengthen their resilience.    \n\n\n\n\n \nISPCC parenting leads will be joined by author\, illustrator and art psychotherapist Katie O’Donoghue\, whose second book The Little Otter Who Tried has recently been published by Gill Books.    \n\n\n\n\n \nThe Little Otter Who Tried is a beautifully illustrated book that aims to teach children valuable lessons about self-care\, resilience and how to ask for help; vital lessons that will be covered throughout the webinar series. DESCRIPTION:This Spring\, Childline will be calling on schools (primary & secondary)\, businesses and individuals across the country to join us in their fundraising efforts and “let’s sweat it together.”   \n \n \nFrom 27th March to 2nd April\, we will be encouraging schools\, businesses\, and individuals to take time out from their day and have a lap and chat together. We will also encourage businesses to allow employees time out of their day to take on a Lap and a Chat with a friend\, family member or colleague.   \nGet your school or workplace involved now by registering and we’ll send you all the info you need to get involved. Time is running out so sign up now! \n \n \n 		\n			 Days Hours Minutes Seconds		\n		  Lap and Chat for Individuals We are asking individuals to ask a friend or family member to go for a walk in the park\, a lap around their area\, or a local trail. During their lap\, chat about what is on their mind and what may be worrying them both. Before or after your Lap and Chat\, people can donate and leave a message\, letting us know what they chatted about and who they went with. They can also send the link to their friend/family member to donate. Everyone will receive a completion certificate! That can be shared through WhatsApp\, Facebook or Instagram to let everyone know they took on the challenge and supported Childline this Spring. 		\n			\n						Get Involved\n					\n			By taking part\, your donation will help support Irelands only listening service of its kind for children\, that can be accessed 24 hours a day\, 365 days a year – online\, by phone or via online chat		\n	\n			Get Involved Now		\n			Register/Donate		\n	\n		  Lap and Chat for SchoolsWe are asking students to pair up with a friend in their class and take a few laps around their yard\, school or in their local area. It is hugely grateful for the generous support it traditionally receives. \n\n\n\nVital volunteers in the Childline units at Penrose Quay in Cork\, O’Connell Street in Limerick\, Baggot Street in Dublin\, Castlebar in Mayo\, Headford Road in Galway and Dyer Street in Drogheda give of their time to answer online contacts\, calls and texts from children and young people who turn to Childline in relation to issues including abuse and violence\, mental health difficulties and school life. \n\n\n\nNationally\, the service – which is free to contact\, confidential and non-judgmental – receives up to 5\,000 contacts every week. \n\n\n\nTo help ensure Childline is always here to listen to children across Ireland\, ladies can now register to take part in this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon. \n\n\n\nTo take part\, simply sign up here and fill in this form or let us know by emailing community@ispcc.ie. \n\n\n\nWhatever way you go the distance\, you will be helping to make a significant difference for children and young people. \n\n\n\nThank you!

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the arrival of the First\nIrish Strawberries\, Keelings are hosting the 6th First Harvest Festival at the\nKeelings Farm Shop in St. Margarets\, Co. Dublin\, on the weekend of April 13th\n& 14th (10am – 4pm each day). \n\n\n\nEntertainment throughout the weekend\nwill include a live DJ\, balloons\, face-painters\, lawn games\, bouncy castles and\ndelicious strawberry goodies…and of course refreshment for parents! \n\n\n\nKeelings Little Growers team will be on\nhand teaching children to plant their very own strawberry plant to take home\,\nlearn about the helpful bugs and bees and get a chance to make their own seed\nbombs. \n\n\n\nThis event is in support of Keelings\nCharity Partner ISPCC Childline\, with whom Keelings are now entering their\nsecond year of support.  Donations\ngratefully accepted over The First Harvest Festival weekend.  \n\n\n\nKeelings are pioneers in producing\nstrawberries\, investing in new varieties and state of the art strawberry\nglasshouses which helps extend the season from March through to December. The\nKeelings farm has the capacity to produce over 100 million Irish strawberries\nfor the Irish market.

Participants will be treated to panoramic views over the Treaty City before beginning their descent.  \n\n\n\nThose who take part in the challenge will help to raise vital funds for Ireland’s only 24-hour active listening service for children and young people. Childline listens to\, supports and empowers children and young people and answers over 310\,000 contacts every year by phone\, online chat and text.  \n\n\n\nChildren and young people who contact Childline are seeking a listening ear and may feel as though they have nowhere else to turn. The free\, confidential and non-judgmental service relies on public and corporate support for over 90 per cent of its funding.  \n\n\n\nTo help keep Childline listening\, participants in the Abseil Challenge will be asked to fundraise a minimum of €300 (including a €50 non-refundable deposit) for the service\, in order to secure their place on the day. The 2FM Xmas Ball was hosted by all 2FM presenters including Nicky Byrne & Jenny Greene\, Eoghan McDermott\, Bernard O’Shea\, Jennifer Zamparelli and Keith Walsh\, Tracy Clifford and more. \n\n\n\nPrior to the event\, Caroline Downey\, President of The ISPCC and producer of the 2FM Xmas Ball\, said: “Once again the ISPCC Childline is indebted to the amazing musicians who are giving up their time to perform at The 2FM Xmas Ball in aid of the ISPCC. Ever.” \n\n\n\nPrior to the event\, Head of RTÉ 2FM and Radio Strategy\, Dan Healy said – “2FM is thrilled to partner with the ISPCC for the fourth year. The drive that Caroline Downey and her team have to do in order to make this night so special\, which in turn raises a half million euro\, needs to be seen to be believed . As ever the line-up is stunning. It really feels like we are in the golden age of Irish music and what a night we will all have. I can’t wait to hear Hozier raise the roof when he sings Nina Cried Power. Let’s raise another half a million for the ISPCC- ISPCC CRIED POWER.” \n\n\n\nAll parties involved with the 2FM Xmas Ball provided their services free of charge on the night including artists\, organisers and 3Arena. The ISPCC’s Cork Children’s Advisory Committee\nand staff team collaborated to develop an event for children and young people\nin Cork\, to  explore resilience\, coping\nmechanisms and how children keep themselves well. \n\n\n\nIt was attended by children from several\nprimary and secondary schools from the Ballincollig\, Youghal and Little Island\nareas\, and built on the success of the Cork Matters ’ research study and\nconsultation project\, which gained insight into life for children\, teenagers\nand their families living in the Youghal and Ballincollig communities of County\nCork.  \n\n\n\nThe event was funded by Tusla.
