SUMMARY:Women's Mini Marathon For ISPCC Childline
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, hundreds of our loyal female\nsupporters from across the country\, pull on the red Childline t-shirt and take\npart in the VHI Women’s Mini-Marathon. As a result they are helping to keep\nChildline open 24 hours a day\, 365 days of the year. \n\n\n\nChildline\, receives over 400\,000\ncontacts annually from children who have nowhere else to turn. Childline is\nIreland’s only 24-hour listening service for children. \n\n\n\nChildren contact Childline for many\nreasons – they may be experiencing bullying\, feel lonely or anxious or they may\njust want to talk something through. When children contact the Childline\nservices\, they are seeking a listening ear and often feel they have nowhere\nelse to turn. \n\n\n\nRaising funds for ISPCC Childline\nthrough the Women’s Mini Marathon ensures you will be a part of every call and\ntext we answer.

DESCRIPTION:The sold-out 2FM Xmas Ball 2018 in aid of the ISPCC raised €500\,000 for the charity. \n\n\n\nFollowing the success of last year’s event\, which raised over €480\,000\, RTÉ 2FM and MCD came together again to host the biggest Xmas Ball yet in aid of ISPCC. Headliner Hozier was joined by Walking On Cars\, Keywest\, Wyvern Lingo\, Chasing Abbey\, Wild Youth and Brave Giant to perform live on the night. The 2FM Xmas Ball was hosted by all 2FM presenters including Nicky Byrne & Jenny Greene\, Eoghan McDermott\, Bernard O’Shea\, Jennifer Zamparelli and Keith Walsh\, Tracy Clifford and more. \n\n\n\nPrior to the event\, Caroline Downey\, President of The ISPCC and producer of the 2FM Xmas Ball\, said: “Once again the ISPCC Childline is indebted to the amazing musicians who are giving up their time to perform at The 2FM Xmas Ball in aid of the ISPCC. We are truly privileged to have their support along with 2FM\, the team in MCD and the 3Arena. We will continue to help children all over Ireland who use the services of the ISPCC and Childline and We Will Never Give Up On A Child. Ever.” \n\n\n\nPrior to the event\, Head of RTÉ 2FM and Radio Strategy\, Dan Healy said – “2FM is thrilled to partner with the ISPCC for the fourth year. The drive that Caroline Downey and her team have to do in order to make this night so special\, which in turn raises a half million euro\, needs to be seen to be believed . As ever the line-up is stunning. It really feels like we are in the golden age of Irish music and what a night we will all have. I can’t wait to hear Hozier raise the roof when he sings Nina Cried Power. Let’s raise another half a million for the ISPCC- ISPCC CRIED POWER.” \n\n\n\nAll parties involved with the 2FM Xmas Ball provided their services free of charge on the night including artists\, organisers and 3Arena. Each year\, the complete funding of the concert goes towards the financial support and aid of the 24-hour phone-line and the ISPCC services dedicated to helping children.
