ISPCC Presents Supporters With An Exciting Opportunity To Descend On Croke Park For Childline

A unique opportunity to scale from the heights of Croke Park onto the revered grounds below is set to be presented to supporters of Ireland’s national listening service for children, ISPCC Childline. The exhilarating prospect of descending almost 150ft from the roof of Ireland’s iconic national stadium is already whetting the appetites for adventure of Childline supporters across the country, with many keen to realise their dreams of being cheered on as they play a starring role in a Croke Park performance to remember.

Unlike the GAA stars who will take to the pitch at the spellbinding stadium later in the year, those who register to take part in the 2019 Croke Park Abseil Challenge – set to take place on Saturday March 23rd – do not need to have any prior experience or put in any hours of training prior to their big day. Full training will be provided to all participants before they begin a descent from a rooftop boasting breathtaking views across the city’s skyline.

Those who take part in the 2019 Croke Park Abseil Challenge for Childline will help to raise vital funds for Ireland’s only 24-hour active listening service for children and young people. Childline listens to, supports and empowers children and young people and answers over 380,000 contacts every year by phone, text and online chat.

Children and young people who contact Childline are seeking a listening ear and may feel as though they have nowhere else to turn. The free, confidential and non-judgmental service relies on public and corporate support for over 90 per cent of its funding.

To help keep Childline listening, participants in the Abseil Challenge will be asked to fundraise a minimum of €300 (including a €50 non-refundable deposit) for the service, in order to secure their place on the day.  Those who take part in the Challenge must be aged over 18 on March 23rd.

With excitement mounting for this delightfully daring day, those hoping to seize their moment in the spotlight at Croke Park and take part are encouraged to register their interest early to secure their place.
