Childline And Vodafone Ireland Foundation – ‘Talking Makes Us Stronger’ Campaign

ISPCC Childline, in partnership with the Vodafone Ireland Foundation, has developed the Talking Makes Us Stronger campaign to show children that it helps to talk, should they encounter anything online which upsets or concerns them.

Check out the campaign here.

While the online space presents a host of positive opportunities to children and young people, they can also be presented with potential dangers – including those of cyberbullying, inappropriate content and strange friend requests.

Research conducted for ISPCC Childline shows that children are increasingly living their lives online.

The campaign features colourful, eye-catching creative assets designed to capture the imaginations of children, particularly those aged 8 – 10. The 30 second television advertisement and six second social media bumper will be broadcast across multiple channels in early 2020.

Children’s online safety is a priority area of focus for the ISPCC through our services and advocacy work.

Parents / carers can play an important role in helping to keep children safe online by keeping lines of communication open.

The Talking Makes Us Stronger campaign encourages children to talk with a trusted adult, or with Childline.

Childline is here for all children and young people up to the age of 18 in Ireland and can often be a first step towards speaking about a topic on their minds with a family member or loved one in their lives. Childline is free to contact, confidential and non-judgmental.

Childline can be contacted by calling 1800 66 66 66 or chatting online at Childline.ie 24 hours day, every day.

ISPCC Childline and the Vodafone Ireland Foundation have developed ‘Five Steps to Get Parents Online Ready’. Read here.
