Childline Service Re-Open After Red Weather Warning Closure

The ISPCC has announced that Childline, Ireland’s national listening service for children and young people, has re-opened following closure as a result of a Status Red National Weather Warning issued by Met Eireann.

The national child protection charity closed its Childline call, text and web chat services from 4pm Thursday March 1st until 2pm Friday March 2nd to protect the health and safety of its staff and volunteers, who usually answer calls from children and young people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Any child or young person in Ireland seeking a listening ear can contact Childline at 1800 66 66 66. Callers are advised to bear with the service, should they experience a slight wait as a result of limited cover in the poor weather conditions.
