ISPCC Appoints New Chief Executive

The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) has announced the appointment of John Church as its new Chief Executive.   

John Church joins from his current role as CEO in Age Action having previously served as CEO of Arthritis Ireland.  In addition to his time with Arthritis Ireland, John brings a wealth of commercial and management experience from the private sector having previously held senior roles within large commercial organisations such as the Coca-Cola Company and the Bank of Ireland Group.

ISPCC Chairperson Turlough Galvin said “I am delighted to announce the appointment of John as Chief Executive of the ISPCC.  He joins an excellent organisation full of committed staff and volunteers and which is highly valued by the Irish public for providing a range of much-needed services to children, including Childline.  John brings experience of having worked in senior roles within both the charitable and commercial sectors and I have no doubt that he will put these skills to excellent use in his new role. I would also like to thank our former CEO Grainia Long for her significant contribution to the ISPCC.”

John said “I am thrilled to accept the role of CEO of the ISPCC.  The organisation is held in high regard for its work in seeking to achieve its mission to make the protection of children everyone’s priority.  I am particularly pleased to be joining in time to celebrate Childline’s 30th birthday later this year.”

John will take up his new role in early August 2018.
