Childline responded to 480,285 contacts from children last year to its range of services. This reflects the increasing need for Childline and for children to be listened to in Ireland.
One of the key areas of concern for Childline in 2014 was the scale and complexity of mental health issues for children.
Over 20,000 contacts in 2014 related to psycho-social and mental health issues. Worryingly, over 1,000 contacts realted to suicide.
In 2014 nearly 30,000 contacts were made in realtion to sexuality.
We have seen a decrease in the number of contacts to Childline in relation to bulling but it remains a major issue of concern for children with cyber bullying being the key issue.
