Your Question

My child is 2. I think she is has dome behaviour problems . How do i help with this or who should i contact ?

Answer

Hello and welcome

Hi there, thank you for your question.

Speaking with your GP

We would advise bringing your child to your GP. A GP can assess whether your child is meeting their developmental milestones and identify any areas where additional support might be helpful. After this assessment, the GP can guide you toward the most appropriate services for your child.

Possible supports

Depending on your child’s needs, the GP may recommend supports such as occupational therapy to help with emotional regulation or other developmental concerns. Many families also find parent and toddler groups helpful, as they offer social interaction for children and support for parents. You can find local groups at your community centre.

Further support

If you would like advice or guidance in the future, you can find helpful resources on the ISPCC website at www.ispcc.ie/. We also offer a Support Line from 9:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday, at 01 522 4300. Or you can email [email protected].

We hope this helps with your concern. Take care,

Robyn
