Your Question

Do you run online parenting courses?

Answer

Hello and welcome

Hi there, thank you for reaching out.

Yes, ISPCC runs a range of parenting programmes and workshops. Many of these are available online, making them accessible to parents and carers around the country.

What the courses cover

Our online courses are designed to be supportive, practical and evidence based. They cover topics such as:

  • Understanding children’s behaviour
  • Building positive communication and connection
  • Managing challenging situations
  • Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing
  • Parenting through different stages of childhood and adolescence

How sessions work

Sessions are facilitated by trained/qualified practitioners. They are parent friendly and interactive, and they provide opportunities to ask questions and share experiences in a safe, non judgemental space.

Examples of programmes

Some of the key ISPCC parenting courses we offer include:

  • NVR Programme: Designed for parents or caregivers facing child to parent aggression, violence or intimidation. This is generally delivered over an 8 to 9 week period, either in person or online.
  • Digital mental health programmes: ISPCC offers two guided parent programmes to help support children and teens experiencing anxiety. These are called How to Support an Anxious Child and How to Support an Anxious Teen.
  • Digital Ready Hub: This includes resources on digital safety, including online grooming, screen time and gaming.

How to find out more

Availability can vary throughout the year, so we recommend:

  • Checking the ISPCC website for current parenting programmes
  • Following ISPCC on social media such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for upcoming courses and webinars
  • Contacting your local ISPCC service for details specific to your area

Your local family resource centre may also offer parenting courses and have additional supports available, so it may be worth contacting them.
