Next, many communities have early years networks or family support services that keep lists of registered creches and childminders. Reaching out to these supports can save time and help you find services that are already known and trusted locally.

Check out any creche carefully

Once you identify a possible creche, it is important to visit the facility if you can. Seeing the space, meeting the staff and asking questions about routines, fees and availability can help you decide if it feels right for your daughter. Trusting your instincts as a parent is important during this step.

Consider other childcare options

If you are unable to find a creche close to you, there are other child minding options that may suit your family. These can include childminders in their own home, shared childminding with another family, or help from a trusted family member or friend, depending on what is available to you.
