A unique opportunity to descend from the heights of the home of Munster rugby, Thomond Park, is being presented to individuals to help raise vital funds for Ireland’s national listening service for children, ISPCC Childline.

The exhilarating prospect is already whetting the appetites for adventure of rugby fans, adrenaline junkies and those who wish to support the Childline service, with many keen to realise their dreams of playing a starring role in a stadium performance to remember.

The ISPCC Childline Thomond Park Abseil Challenge will take place at the Limerick venue on Saturday September 14th. Participants will be treated to panoramic views over the Treaty City before beginning their descent.

Those who take part in the challenge will help to raise vital funds for Ireland’s only 24-hour active listening service for children and young people. Childline listens to, supports and empowers children and young people and answers over 310,000 contacts every year by phone, online chat and text.

Children and young people who contact Childline are seeking a listening ear and may feel as though they have nowhere else to turn. The free, confidential and non-judgmental service relies on public and corporate support for over 90 per cent of its funding.

To help keep Childline listening, participants in the Abseil Challenge will be asked to fundraise a minimum of €300 (including a €50 non-refundable deposit) for the service, in order to secure their place on the day. Those who take part in the Challenge must be aged over 18 on September 14th.

With excitement mounting for this delightfully daring day, those keen to take part are encouraged to register their interest early to secure their place.
