Your Question
I never seem to have enough time for myself after work, kids, household chores
Answer
Welcome to Ask Robyn
Welcome to our Ask Robyn service and thank you for getting in touch. Many parents tell us they feel stretched thin once work, children and household responsibilities are done. You are not alone in feeling this way.
Understanding what is happening
It is completely understandable to feel there is no space left for yourself at the end of the day. When adults are constantly giving to others, their own needs can quietly slip to the bottom of the list. Over time, this can lead to tiredness, frustration and a sense that there is never a chance to recharge.
Why your time matters
Looking after yourself is not selfish. In fact, when parents have even small moments to rest or do something they enjoy, they often feel more patient and more connected to their children. So making time for yourself is part of caring for your family too.
Small steps that can help
Although finding extra time can feel impossible, small changes can make a real difference. For example, you could try:
• Choosing one short daily pause just for you, even ten minutes, and protecting that time
• Sharing responsibilities where possible and asking for help from partners, family or friends
• Letting go of some household expectations and accepting good enough rather than perfect
• Planning one regular activity each week that you genuinely look forward to
Moving forward
Change does not have to happen all at once. Instead, taking one small step can help you feel more in control and remind you that your needs matter too.

We hope you find some of the above helpful. Take care of yourself,
