No child should feel forgotten this Christmas

No child should feel forgotten this Christmas

At just 12 years old, Zoe felt completely alone

When Zoe contacted Childline, someone listened. Your compassion can help ensure every child has somewhere to turn this Christmas.

Living with addiction at home and nowhere she felt safe, Zoe began to believe nobody would notice if she disappeared. Then she contacted Childline and a volunteer listened.

A caring conversation helped Zoe find hope.

Nobody should feel this alone

“I am lonely at home. I am lonely at school. I have nobody…”

For many vulnerable children, Christmas can be the hardest time of the year.

When fear, loneliness and uncertainty feel overwhelming, Childline is there to listen, support and remind children that they matter.

Because of supporters like you, no child has to face their struggles alone.

This Christmas, your donation can help ensure every child has somewhere to turn.

Your gift helps provide

❤️ Hope when children feel alone

Zoe found kindness and support when she needed it most. But many more children this Christmas will feel forgotten, facing loneliness and fear with nobody they believe they can turn to.

With your help, we’ll be there for them too.

ISPCC to host European child helplines in Dublin

ISPCC to host European child helplines in Dublin

ISPCC is proud to host the Child Helpline International Europe Regional Consultation this October, bringing child helplines from across Europe together in Dublin and Dún Laoghaire to connect, collaborate and share knowledge.

From 12–15 October, ISPCC will welcome colleagues from across the Child Helpline International network to Ireland for several days of discussion and collaboration focused on the issues shaping child helpline services and the lives of children and young people across Europe.

The Regional Consultation provides an important opportunity for organisations with a shared commitment to listening to, supporting and protecting children to learn from one another.

While child helplines operate in different countries, cultures and contexts, many of the challenges facing children and young people increasingly cross borders. Coming together allows organisations to share what they are hearing directly from children, identify emerging trends and explore how services can continue to evolve to meet their needs.

Responding to a changing world

The consultation will explore some of the most significant issues currently affecting children and child helplines.

A dedicated day will bring child helplines and online platforms together to discuss collaboration, emerging online harms and how children can be better supported when harm occurs online. The programme will also consider the growing role of artificial intelligence in children’s online experiences and the ways in which children seek help.

Child helplines will also have dedicated time for peer learning and discussion, exploring how AI is changing helpline work, the sustainability of services, and emerging trends in children’s rights and wellbeing, including online safety and rising mental health needs.

Stronger through collaboration

At ISPCC, we know the importance of listening to children and responding to the realities of their lives.

But the challenges children face are constantly changing. No organisation or country has all the answers.

Opportunities such as the Child Helpline International Europe Regional Consultation allow organisations to share expertise, learn from different approaches and strengthen the collective response to the issues affecting children and young people.

The consultation will conclude with an opportunity for visiting child helplines to visit ISPCC’s headquarters in Dún Laoghaire and learn more about our work and services.

We are incredibly proud to welcome our colleagues from across Europe to Ireland and to create a space for conversations that can help strengthen support for children and young people across the region.
