The ISPCC’s Fundraising Team benefits from the talent and enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers across the country who are keen to help make a difference in the lives of children and young people.
Fundraising volunteers drive community events at every level, from bake sales to abseils, from 1km strolls to full marathons and every other imaginable type of fundraising activity in between!
Fundraising volunteers are also integral to the success of many of the ISPCC’s biggest fundraising drives each year. These include selling sun cream and ponchos at summer concerts, the Childline Goody Bag Roadshow, the ISPCC Holly campaign and more.
The initiative and endeavours of the ISPCC’s fundraising volunteers help to keep Childline listening to children and help the ISPCC to further its mission to make child protection everyone’s priority. For this, we are hugely grateful.

Liz Jenkins, Fundraising Volunteer
I first started volunteering for Childline through selling ponchos at outdoor events during the summer. It was a great experience – helping to raise money for a worthy cause while enjoying some of the biggest concerts of the year.
Fundraising is a lively and interactive experience and involves engaging with people in a warm and humorous way in a bid to secure as many donations as possible. One of the most enjoyable elements is meeting other volunteers and working towards a common goal. It’s also lovely to get positive feedback from people who appreciate the time and energy you give the charity.
It feels great contributing and being able to do so simply by giving up some free time. I encourage everyone to try it – I guarantee you will find it a worthwhile and rewarding experience! Fundraising is a fun and enjoyable way to help Childline raise the funds needed to maintain the essential service the charity provides.
Emma Mc Nulty, Fundraising Volunteer
After I started college at Dublin Institute of Technology in 2016, the ISPCC was picked as the Students’ Union’s charity of the year. Lots of the events I became involved with then took on a purpose that was about more than just having fun and meeting people. It felt great to be giving back to the charity too. Seeing the impact our events had on ISPCC Childline at the end of the year made me want to keep on volunteering!
I’ve since had opportunities to attend concerts including Guns ‘n’ Roses at Slane, the Electric Picnic festival and Queen at Marlay Park, all while helping to raise thousands for such an important charity. You get out what you put in with charity work.
I never expected to become a volunteer but now I just couldn’t imagine not doing it. My favourite summer memories of the last two years have been of me twirling about in my big red ISPCC Childline t-shirt!
